WHAT IS THE CUT-OFF DATE / TIME FOR DELIVERIES?

If you order by 12pm on the 12th of each month your order will be included in that same month’s shipment, with dispatch on the 15th. Order after that cut-off time / date and your order will be shipped on the 15th of the following month.

CAN I CHOOSE THE SHIPPING DATE?

Unfortunately that’s not possible at the moment. The shipping date is set on around the 1st of every month with delivery being 2-3 working days later (including Saturdays) via 2nd Class Royal Mail.

DO YOU SHIP INTERNATIONALLY?

At the moment we only ship to the United Kingdom but you’ll definitely hear from us if we start delivering to other countries.

WHAT DELIVERY SERVICE DO YOU USE?

We send your tea box via 2nd Class Royal Mail so it should reach your door within two–three working days (including Saturdays). If you haven’t received your tea within three working days of dispatch, please contact us at support@tastefortea.com and we’ll immediately look into this.

HOW MUCH IS DELIVERY?

We were hoping you’d ask that question as we have good news. Delivery to UK addresses is completely free. Zero charges. 🙂

WHEN WILL I RECEIVE MY TEAS?

We dispatch all our subscriptions on or around the 1st of each month. You should receive your box 2-3 working days later (including Saturdays).

WILL I NEED TO BE AT HOME WHEN MY BOX IS DELIVERED?

Only for the first box. This is because the content of the first box is more bulky and we couldn’t make it all fit into a letterbox-friendly parcel. However, all our follow-up boxes fit UK mailboxes so you won’t need to wait for the postman.

DO YOU PROVIDE BREWING INSTRUCTIONS?

Our tea subscription is designed for those new to loose-leaf tea so don’t worry, you’re in good hands with us! On the back of every tea pouch, you’ll find easy-to-follow brewing guidelines highlighting the quantity of tea required, the ideal water temperature and the brewing duration to make that perfect cup. The guidelines also mention potential add-ons that go well with each tea.  

WHAT ELSE IS INCLUDED IN THE BOX?

We believe that tea is much more enjoyable once you connect with it and understand the art behind a good cup. To help you with this process, we include a Discovery Card explaining a different aspect of tea each month; as well as illustrated Tasting Notes giving you details about the origin, processing and flavour profile of the teas.

Your first subscription box also contains a beautiful titanium tea measurement spoon; and a high-quality metal strainer that you can use to infuse the tea leaves either in a pot or a cup.

WHAT TYPES OF TEA WILL YOU SEND ME?

Our subscription programme is all about discovery and adventure, so you can expect to receive all types of tea: White, Green, Yellow, Oolong, Black and Dark (Puerh) during the 12-month programme.

All teas are in loose-leaf format – no teabags! We’ve worked hard to ensure that all our teas are of high quality and representative of a spectrum of flavours.

CAN I CHOOSE WHAT TEAS TO RECEIVE?

Our subscription programme is all about discovering new teas and learning what makes a tea. The teas in each box are not chosen randomly but carefully selected based on a certain theme. It’s precisely for this reason that we’re unable to offer a personalised choice of teas. Not knowing what teas you will receive is part of the adventure,  and we’re sure you’ll love what we’ll be sending you!

CAN I CHOOSE THE FREQUENCY / QUANTITY OF TEA DELIVERED?

Unfortunately that’s not possible at this stage. Each box contains four teas (20 grams each) and is dispatched once a month.

HOW MUCH TEA DOES EACH BOX CONTAIN?

Regardless of whether you subscribe monthly or for 3, 6 or 12 months, each box contains 80 grams of tea, split between 4 teas. The quantities are ideal for you to form an impression of each tea and they will give you 32-90 cups of tea, depending on the box – so hopefully enough for a full month.

DOES YOUR TEA CONTAIN ANY ALLERGENS?

All our teas are free from nuts, coconuts, dairy and other known allergens.

WHY DO YOU NOT SELL FLAVOURED TEA?

We are strong advocates of pure, unflavoured tea – for various reasons: first of all, it is only through pure tea that the influence of terroir, plant variety and manufacturing steps on the taste of a tea can be understood.

Besides, we believe that pure tea is a form of art: an expression of a tea master’s skills and allows us to connect with the makers much more than any other form of tea. 

Last but not least, most flavoured teas are made with low quality ingredients and often use artificial flavouring. We do supply flavoured teas in one of our boxes, but they are exceptionally high quality teas that are not easy to produce.

HOW SHOULD I STORE MY TEAS?

All our teas come in re-sealable zip pouches designed to protect the tea from air, external odours, sunlight and moisture. We suggest you keep your teas in them as each pouch also has useful brewing guidelines on the back. Try not to leave the pouches in the same cabinet in which you store your spices as odours could get passed on to the tea if the pouch wasn’t sealed properly.

Of course, feel free to store the tea in a dedicated tea caddy if you have one!

WHAT'S THE SHELF LIFE OF YOUR TEAS?

We have worked extremely hard to source the freshest teas directly from the producers or – where not possible – from highly reputable wholesalers. 

We supply all our teas in re-sealable zip pouches designed to protect the tea from air, external odours, sunlight and moisture, keeping them fresh for longer. As long as you carefully re-seal your tea pouches once you’ve opened them, the tea inside should remain in good condition for a good two years or longer.

WHERE DOES YOUR TEA COME FROM?

We have worked extremely hard to bring you some of the best teas out there. We are proud that nearly half of all our teas are sourced directly from the producers in various countries around the world.

Buying directly from producers allows us to trace back the origin of the teas all the way to the tea master. This means we are able to often give you more transparent information about the individual teas, as you will see from the details displayed on our Tasting Notes.

By bypassing exporters, importers and wholesalers we can also guarantee you a fresher, higher quality tea. You will notice the difference in your cup!

Unfortunately sourcing tea directly from the producers is not always possible. Where we had to use wholesalers we have worked very hard to source only from highly reputable ones so you can rest assured that all our teas are of good quality.

ARE YOUR TEAS ORGANIC?

For our subscription programme we have preferred to focus on the tasting quality of the teas and on whether they fit our themes rather than on whether they are organic.

That said, a quarter of the teas in our subscription programme come from organic gardens.

IS PAYMENT THROUGH YOUR WEBSITE SECURE?

Absolutely! All our payments are processed by Stripe. They use state-of-the-art technology to make sure that your order payments and card details remain safe and are not passed on to us.

We use an SSL certificate on our website to ensure your payment details are secure with us.

WHEN WILL I GET BILLED?

We automatically bill our subscribers’ account on the 1st of every month. This way you can continue to receive our teas without ever needing to reach for your card again. However, we send you a reminder email a few days before we take payment from you – just in case you wish to pause or cancel your subscription. Aren’t we nice. 🙂

WHAT PAYMENT METHODS DO YOU ACCEPT?

Currently we accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express debit and credit cards.

DO YOU OFFER REFUNDS?

As tea is perishable, we are unable to offer any refunds if you have opened any of the tea pouches we delivered. However, if you have any unopened tea pouches and would like a refund for any reason, you can contact us at support@tastefortea.com, return the tea box back to us, and if all pouches are in mint condition, we will go ahead and process the refund.

Please note that we do not offer any pro-rata refunds for 3, 6 or 12-month subscriptions.
